Privacy notice

Sum Squad HQ — a maths app for Key Stage 2 (Year 3).
Version 1.0 · 8 October 2026
The short version. Sum Squad HQ works offline. There are no accounts, no adverts, no tracking and no analytics. Nothing your child types ever leaves your device. We cannot see it.

What is stored, and where

Only three things, and all of them stay on your device:

It is held in your device's local storage. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. We do not receive it, we cannot access it, and it does not reach any server.

What we do not do

Why we ask for a name — it is optional

The name is optional. If you enter one, it lets the app address your child personally. If you leave it blank, the app simply uses the name "Recruit".

A nickname is completely fine — please do not enter a full name, and never a surname. Whatever you type stays on your device.

How to delete everything

Inside the app, open settings and tap Reset all progress. Tap it twice to confirm. That erases the name and all progress permanently from your device. You can also clear it by clearing your browser's site data for this app.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict and object to the processing of personal data, and to data portability. Because we never receive your child's data, we hold nothing to give you or delete — you control it directly on your device, and the Reset button above exercises your deletion right instantly.

Children's privacy

We follow the ICO's Age Appropriate Design Code, the Children's Code. The app is designed with high privacy by default: it collects almost nothing, sends nothing off the device, shows no advertising, and uses no nudge techniques to encourage a child to give up more information.

For younger readers
Sum Squad HQ keeps your name and your progress on your own device. Nobody else can see it. Not us, not anyone. There are no adverts, and nothing follows you around. If you want to start again, tap Reset all progress and it will all be deleted.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle personal data, contact us first at smilesncuddles1@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

If we ever change what the app does with data, we will update this notice and the date above. If we ever add anything that sends data off the device — an account, analytics or cloud sync — this notice will change first, and we will ask for consent where the law requires it.
